THE NEXT IDEA CREATIVITY WEEKEND: Exploring the Art, Science and Spirit
of Creativity
See http://www.creativityinstitute.net/index.htm for full details about the weekend.
October 27-29, 2006 New Lebenon, N.Y.
"LETTING IT HAPPEN " THROUGH PAINT
1. You ask. 2. The universe provides. 3. Let it happen. Sounds simple, yet the art of recognizing opportunities when they come our way and letting the good into our lives takes awareness, focus and practice. Practice "getting out of your own way" using mainly meditation and watercolor paint. Absolutely no art experience is necessary. Based loosely on the principles described by Esther and Jerry Hicks in Ask and it is Given, artist, educator and creative professional Sheri Kennedy Brock will guide you gently toward reconnection with your own creative potential and a richer future.
PAINT JAM: MUSIC AND ART
with fabulous New York musician Laraaji
A freeform session designed to awaken the musician and/or visual artist in you! Like a jazz session, "musicians" and "artists" will play off each other's inspirations by creating spontaneously in the same space. A loose structure will be introduced, basic instruction given, then we'll all witness the creative experience unfold. Participants are encouraged to bring their artistic media and/or instruments of choice. Some will be provided. Novices are welcome. Take a risk, try both roles, join the fun and experience the power of collective creation.
HEALING THROUGH ART

This is an introduction to the materials and mechanics of oil painting

drawing, values, and color while working from still life and other projects.
Attention will be paid to each student's creative choices and development
in a structured environment. No experience necessary. Limited to 16.
WATERCOLOR PAINTING
Offered
spring and summer terms through Cambridge Center for Adult Education.
For more information, search for "Sheri Kennedy" or "painting"
at www.CCAE.org. Watercolor
is a translucent medium that sinks into the fibre of a sheet of paper,
releasing the light from the surface. Watercolor dries fast, enabling
one to work quickly with freshness and spontaneity. In this class, we
will address the fundamentals of watercolor painting, but emphasis will
be on exploration and personal expression. Bring supplies to first class;
list sent to registrants. Limited to 16.
